The North Face: the flagship of winter clothing
The North Face is an American company that produces clothing, footwear, backpacks and mountain accessories . The North Face despite being synonymous with winter sports was founded in 1966 by two hikers, Douglas Tompkins and Susie Tompkins, on a beach in the North Beach area of San Francisco. In a few years, The North Face from a small mountain equipment shop becomes a popular brand throughout the United States. North Face garments are designed and studied for climbers, skiers, mountaineers, hikers and snowboard athletes. The North Face logo, designed by David Alcorn in 1971, evokes the Half Dome, the maximum granite of Yosemite National Park.
