Founded in 1996 by a twenty-four-year-old American football player with the idea of improving sports T-shirts, Under Armor has today reached the status of a company marked by continuous innovation , protagonist of numerous revolutions in the field of sportswear. The vision of the brand is in fact to offer athletes performing solutions , of which they did not feel the need but which now they can no longer give up.
The first T-Shirt prototype was soft, snug and made sweat sweat faster than any other product and material available on the market. In 2005 the company declared war on cotton to create a new fabric: UA TECH ™ , conceived to give the touch the same feeling as cotton but offer the characteristics of the Under Armor brand. 2011 sees the birth of Charged Cotton , a material created with a new combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers: this allows you to better absorb sweat and transport it more quickly outside the classic cotton.
Since 2006 the company has extended its research from head to toe, taking an interest in the world of sports shoes. Over the years the company has developed new technologies, such as the Storm fabric in 2011, the Coldgear® Infrared insulation system in 2013 and the Speedfoam in 2014. In 2015 he developed the UA Connected Fitness platform and in 2018 the HOVR cushioning system: "We could not allow the force of gravity to slow us down.
